This is an especially designed soft flame burner for heat shrinking applications. It provides a 300 mm x 25 mm wide soft flame at 4.5 kw -- the wide, gentle heat profile required by most heat shrink applications. The 1473 fits the Bullfinch 110 P and 140 P torch kits. This burner will also operate on the 1185, 1245 and 1340 handles. It is BS EN ISO 9002 certified. It carries a five year warranty.
The 1473 is a specifically designed burner for heat shrinking applications, as opposed to using a general-purpose heater at low power settings. The soft flame burner is designed to produce a wide, even heat distribution which is necessary for many heat shrink applications. A standard flame produces a concentrated hotspot which may scorch or distort the sleeve being shrunk instead of providing a uniform shrink.
It has enough power to be effective over a variety of different shrink ratios and tubing sizes while consuming 325 g/hr propane to provide high efficiency for a burner producing 4.5 kw. It works directly with the 110 P and 140 P torch kits and the three Bullfinch Standard handles (1185, 1245, 1340). They are connected through a standard 1” x 26 TPI outlet thread.
