Sievert Pro 88 Gas Blow Torch Handle – Dual Valve | Pilot Flame Economiser
The Sievert Pro 88 double-valued Handle (main and economiser) for all types of large scale heating including roofing, waterproofing. The main and economizer valves operate as a semi-automatic ignition system. Once the Trigger is pressed the main gas supply is opened and is ignited by the pilot flame. 385g, 205 x 90mm. BSP 3/8” left hand thread.
The Pro 88 Handle is an entirely different type of product compared to the pro 3486 single-valued Handle. It’s not a precision flame control Handle for jewellery and other small burner products. This is a double-valved, Trigger operated Handle specifically engineered for the high power burner products utilized in roofing, waterproofing, road surfacing and large scale site heating. The key element of this design is the economizer system. The first valve generates a pilot flame that maintains the burner lit at very low fuel usage levels. Upon triggering the second valve (main valve), the full power burner is instantly ignited from the pilot flame. No need to use a match or lighter or wait for multiple seconds before making another pass along a roof membrane.
In addition to instant on/off Switching of the full power main flame, the Trigger may be repeatedly pressed and released to create a pulsing effect. Each time the Trigger is pressed, the full power main flame will ignite for a brief period (as long as the Trigger is held down). Releasing the Trigger returns the burner back to a pilot flame state. This allows for much greater control of how quickly or slowly membranes are heated as opposed to having the full power main flame running continuously while applying heat to the membrane.
The Pro 88 Handle is widely used around the world by professional roofers and waterproofing contractors. The entire unit consists of high quality brass components. The soft grip Handle was moulded twice to provide maximum durability and comfort for prolonged periods of hard use common in large scale roofing projects. The BSP 3/8” right hand thread burner outlet is a direct fit to Sievert Pro 88 power burners.
Key Features & Benefits
Dual-Valve Economiser System — One valve for pilot flame; one for main flame — the economiser keeps the burner lit between passes without consuming full gas, then triggers to full power instantly.
Trigger for Instant Main Flame Switching — Press for full-power main flame ignited by pilot; release to return to pilot — instant, repeatable on every roofing pass.
Pulsing Main Flame Control — Trigger can be pressed and released repeatedly for pulsed heat application — more precise membrane control than continuous open flame.
Semi-Automatic Ignition — Pilot flame ignites the main gas supply when the trigger is pressed — no separate match or lighter required during roofing sessions.
For Larger Power Burners — Designed for Sievert Pro 88 series power burners for roofing, waterproofing, roadwork and large-scale heating.
All-Brass Metal Components — High-quality brass throughout the dual-valve assembly.
Double-Moulded Soft Grip — Maximum comfort for sustained heavy-duty roofing work.
BSP 3/8" LH Hose Inlet — Standard Pro 88 hose connection — hose nipple sold separately.
BSP 3/8" RH Burner Outlet — Connects directly to Pro 88 series power burners.

Replacing the handle in an existing Pro 88 setup
Building a new Pro 88 torch configuration with power burners
Pro 88 vs Pro 3486 — Which Handle?
Pro 88 is for power burner applications; Pro 3486 is for smaller precision burners — If you're doing roofing, waterproofing or large-scale heating with power burners, the Pro 88 is the correct handle. If you're doing soldering, jewellery or precision metalwork with smaller burners, the 3486 is right.
The pilot flame economiser saves gas on large roofing projects — Relighting the main flame from scratch on every roofing pass consumes gas and time. The pilot keeps the burner lit between passes at minimal gas consumption — the main flame triggers instantly when the next pass begins.
The professional roofing and waterproofing torch handle. The Sievert Pro 88 Handle 348841 is in stock and ready to ship. A hose nipple is required — sold separately. Compatible Pro 88 power burners also available.
